Mother's Day 2011
This Mother's Day we spent the morning at home. Raif woke up not really knowing that today he was supposed to spoil me with love and affection, Mother's Day to a 2 1/2 year old is just another day and he still wants things his way. He did give me a big hug and a kiss though, but only after pretending to cry if he didn't. Bailey, however, is now at the point where she remembers the special day when she first gets up, and comes in to our bedroom with a huge smile on her face yelling, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" She then immediately told me to wait in my room, rushed down to the kitchen, and poured me a bowl of cereal with milk. She also managed to carry it upstairs to my room, without spilling a drop! She also managed to put away the milk and cereal, not bad for a 5 year old! As much as I didn't want to eat the cereal, I ate it like it was the best cereal on the planet...which was an easy task since her beaming smile grew bigger and bigger with each delicious bite!
We had a delicious brunch at Virginia Country Club with Colby's mom and dad. There was a professional photographer taking pictures, so the kids were kind of done with picture taking. But, I did manage to get in one picture of me and my babies, hopefully the professional ones come out better!
The afternoon we spent around the house, doing a few things that needed to get done. Ie., Colby had to put in a new garbage disposal...I know, so exciting! For dinner Colby made some delicious fish tacos, and then afterwards we had a movie night outside. The kids and I snuggled in tight, since it was a bit chilly outside. It was a great day!
