Cousins at Disneyland

Lexy and Bailey on It's a Small World

Yesterday I loaded up four kids, and when I say loaded that is a load in my car, and we headed off to Disneyland. We had such a great time and Jaymee and Lexy got to bring out the little kids in themselves. They've had passes for at least two years now and hadn't been on the newly renovated It's a Small World. Nor had they been to Toon Town or the little train in It's a Bug's Life (Since becoming tweens!). So, Bailey, Raif and I showed them how to do Disneyland toddle style. It was a lot of fun and will surely be a repeat activity this summer.

Cousin Play Day

When Kelly first had her girls I was a little sad, because I knew I was nowhere near ready to have kids, and when I did there would be quite an age difference. Well, even though Bailey and Jaymee are almost 10 years apart, and Lexy and her are almost 8 years apart, they can definitely have fun. The three of them played with Bailey's dress up clothes for almost 2 hours. I didn't capture any of Bailey's get-ups, but she did join in on the fun and had on some very funny outfits. I didn't think the girls would be able to get her princess Belle dress on, but they had to prove me wrong and squeezed into it. It was a lot of fun and great entertainment for Bailey and me.

Happy Father's Day

My Dad holding Raif, his first Grandson Colby with Bailey the day he became a father

So, as you can tell I didn't take a single picutre on Father's Day. I think I had one of the momentary lapses in thinking. With that said, we did have a great day. We woke up early, walked to The Small Cafe for breakfast, and then walked home to pick up the doggies. We all went for a nice walk to the school to let the dogs play and Bailey go on the slide. After that we had fun playing at home, and then we joined the Irelands at the BBC for a fun lunch. Later that evening, we joined my sister and her family at our parents for some good old baked spaghetti, garlic bread and salad. I pitched in and made stawberry and blueberry crepes with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was such a great day. The pictures I posted are very special to both dads in my life. My dad has put up with girls for 35 years, and he finally got his little boy. He always says he wouldn't know what to do with a boy, but I think they'll manage to have a lot of fun! The second picture is the day Colby became a dad. Both babies had a pretty scary arrival, so the sound of Bailey crying after a minute of silence was music to both of our ears. Love you both!

Disneyland with Auntie Kelly

We meet the blue fairy.
Raif loves Dumbo!

My sister had last week off, so when the girls were still in school we packed up Bailey and Raif and went to Disneyland for a few hours. Since Kelly is such a Disneyland guru, we got to weave through the park and ride on about 10 rides in 4 hours, while still managing to stand in line for the fairies (it takes about an hour!) Thanks Auntie Kelly for going with us, the picture of Raif and you should at least put a smile on your face on your first day back to work!

It's hard to believe she will be starting middle school next year. One more year and Kelly will have a child in high school!!!! Congratulations Lexy!

Bailey's Recital Video

I figured out my technical difficulty. Thank you Anne and Darrel, our neighbors, for the use of your video camera. I guess it might by time to invest in one. Bailey was a bit distracted at the beginning of the video, one of her fellow classmates wasn't sure about coming on stage. Bailey was much more interested in her than in following along with the performance. After that she did pretty well. Bailey and her class only had about 7 sessions in total. I think they all did pretty well. We are so proud of you Bailey.

The final bow
Bailey had her dance recital on Sunday. The production was held at Millikan High School and was about two hours long. Bailey did wonderfully, we were on holding our breath to see if she would actually make it on stage. She did and she even made it back on stage for the final bow. The Los Altos Dance Company puts on a wonderful performance and it is run so smoothly. Bailey has been playing all morning pretending the entire house is her stage. She keeps asking when we are going back to dance class. We tried to tape the performance, but had a little technical difficulty. I will get her performance from the dance studio and post it as soon as I can.

My Couch Potato

We (well, at least I did) thought it was so cute when Boomer was a puppy and he would get up on the couch and snuggle with us. Six years later we are still with our cute, snuggly puppy dog of just 80 pounds who sheds like a...I don't even know what to call the amount of fur this dog sheds. As punishment for today, yes we still are trying to break him of the habit (sort of), I had Raif have a "still" horsey ride. Raif loved it and I really think I could have done anything to Boomer as long as I let him stay on the couch.
